It is our goal and intention to welcome all to enjoy the experience of this magnificent part of the world called Manitou Springs; to celebrate its rich history and learn from the nature surrounding. We extend our home, our hearts and all that it has to offer. Built in 1886 as the Avenue Hotel, it has served as a Hotel, a boarding house, apartment building, a lodge, and private residence. In 1984 the Gray's converted it to Manitou's First Bed and Breakfast. It is a wonderful 7-room historic turn of the century Queen Ann in the heart of Manitou Spring Historical District. All of our rooms have private bathroom most with claw foot tub and shower, a delicious breakfast served daily a Jacuzzi in the back garden, spa services available and many restaurants, shops and art galleries are in walking distance. All this makes for a memorable stay. The first floor houses the dining room, formal living room, library-family room with guest telephone & data port- there are no phones in guest rooms- TV-VCR-DVD, movies, wireless access, fireplace and foyer. A large front porch overlooks Manitou Avenue. In the back yard there is a Jacuzzi in our wild flower garden for your relaxing pleasure. All guest rooms are air-conditioned. Carriage House: One bedroom garden style apartment, great garden views. Peonies Room: King bed views of both Manitou Avenue and the library. Meadows Room: Large sunny rear room in natural wood with king bed. Wild Rose Room: Large en suite offers with Manitou Avenue view. Timberland Room: Two-bedroom suite, each w/double bed. Oasis Room: Large room, canopied king bed, view of library grounds, mountain top. Blue-Green Suite: Large 2-room suite on the 3rd floor overlooks Manitou Avenue. No TV. Pikes Peak Room: Sunny rear corner room with a view of Pikes Peak, full bed. Legend has it that the Ute Indian tribes from the mountains met the Arapaho and other Plains tribes in peace to worship the god that breathed into the waters to create the natural effervescence of the springs and give them curative powers. This Great Spirit is called Manitou in Alonquin Manitou Springs is a wonderful artistic culturally diverse community rich in Indian culture. It has been called the Saratoga of the west and there is so much to do:
