We are located at a quick block from the Rio Grande Nature Center where various species of birds and ducks find their oasis in the desert. It's a lovely place for your morning run, a pleasant bike ride or an evening walk. Only minutes from Albuquerque's museums and Old Town Plaza where dining, shopping and the gallery browsing flavor your stay with that southwestern flair. Our guesthouses were created with you in mind. Each one unique, together they possess all the southwestern charm you were hoping for - a place you will be happy to come home to. The neighborhood is pleasant, quiet and somewhat rural....that "country in the city" feeling. We are centrally located only minutes away from some of Albuquerque's most interesting attractions, wonderful restaurants, and the gay and lesbian bookstores, bars, and local hang-outs. The Original Golden Guest House - Kick off your shoes! You're here! Go ahead and snoop around. If it's chilly you can light up a fire in the kiva fireplace. At this Guesthouse we opted for a gas log fireplace to save some trees and help keep Albuquerque's air clean. You'll find reading material in the living room and board games in the cabinet in the kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, a toaster-oven, a coffeemaker, a microwave, dishes and utensils, and kitchen clean-up supplies. To insure your privacy during your stay, there is NO daily maid service. Whether siesta time or bedtime, collapse into the queen-size bed in the austere, yet cozy bedroom. There is plenty of closet space here! You'll appreciate the rustic wood plank floors, an interesting contrast to the saltillo tile throughout the rest of the cottage. Golden Guesthouse TOO - Have a seat on the front porch and relax. This is a fully-equipped home, perfect for your enjoyment, whether for a weekend visit or an extended stay. There is a desk in the corner of the Living room for your laptop, reading your maps, and planning what to do around town. The kitchen offers a full size refrigerator, a stove, a toaster oven, a coffeemaker, a dishwasher and in the pump house just outside is a washer and dryer. This is our guesthouse that welcomes children. We remember that 3 meals out each and every day with kids on vacation can really take it's toll on Mom's and Dad's so we have what you need to eat at home. Except for the food, that is. However, there is a grocery store and a food co-op just minutes from the house. For true relaxation after your long sightseeing day, or whenever you feel the need, relax in the hot tub.
