DOWNTOWN HANNIBAL "
We prepare a hot, personalized breakfast for our guests each morning in our elegant, floral dining room looking over our gardens - join us for breakfast, and meet other guests from all around the world. We also offer fresh-baked cookies during the day, and turn-down service at night. After breakfast, explore the historic town of Hannibal - visit the many artist studios and galleries, antique shops, and the outdoor recreation available along the Mississippi. The Garden House Bed & Breakfast was originally built in downtown Hannibal in 1896 by Albert Pettibone, Jr., son of the founder of the Hannibal Saw Mill Company. The home is filled with beautiful woodwork, evidence of the Pettibone family's love for natural woods. The house two doors down was built by Albert's brother. Albert's son, Charles, also lived here for a few years in the 1920’s, and Will Griwold, the owner of a furniture store still in business in Hannibal, also lived at the Garden House. Our Hannibal Bed & Breakfast is rich in history, and we'd love to share some of our stories and historic photos of the town with you when you stay with us. There are many great things to do here in Hannibal - horseback riding, fishing on Mark Twain Lake, taking a steamboat ride on the Mississippi River, exploring local museums, and much more. There are also many special events, including collector automobiles, folkart and crafts, bluegrass music, and much more. For more details, click on our website link at left and visit our "Explore the Area" page on our main website. Looking for a great place to spend your next vacation, or coming to Hannibal on business? Stay at the Garden House Inn B&B, and let us pamper you.
