The Folkestone Inn Bed & Breakfast is located in a grove of giant Norway Spruces, beside a mountain brook, at the Deep Creek area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park... on the quieter, softer side of the Smokies. Just an hour from Asheville and half an hour from Waynesville, the B&B is just two miles north of Bryson City, a sleepy little mountain community (pop. 1,400) which offers peace and quiet amid a wealth of natural scenery and outdoor activities.

Turn a weekend into a relaxing mini-vacation or a week into a vacation to remember! There's hiking, waterfalls, trout fishing and horseback riding in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, mountain biking on the famous Tsali trails, fishing on Fontana Lake, sightseeing on the Great Smoky Mountains Scenic Railroad and whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River, just a 25-minute drive from the Inn. There's an 18-hole mountain golf course nearby, and the Biltmore Estate and Winery is just a little over an hour away, in nearby Asheville. During the winter, there is snow skiing and snow tubing in Maggie Valley as well as the opportunity to cross-country ski or snowshoe on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Originally a 1920s mountain farmhouse, the Folkestone Inn offers ten guest rooms, all with private baths with clawfoot tubs and showers. Some rooms also have a Celeste fireplace. Upstairs, the Inn offers private balconies with vistas of the Great Smoky Mountains, while the ground floor rooms offer an olde world charm, with flagstone floors, low pressed-tin ceilings, and the ambiance of a gently flickering fire from a Celeste Stove. The Inn is completely air-conditioned; each room is independently zoned with individual thermostat controls. Rates include breakfast. Breakfast specialties include eggs benedict and french toast stuffed with bananas and walnuts.  A vegetarian or special dietary option is available with prior notice.

For any special occasion (romantic interlude, honeymoon, anniversary, birthday, promotion, or "just because"), any time of the year, any day of the week, with advance notice, the Folkestone Inn can provide a special romance or celebration package with flowers and candy. We can also work with you to put together a special group package. The Inn is a perfect setting for a friends’ or family reunion, "girls' weekend out", scrapbooking party, or a small intimate commitment ceremony. Prices are based upon double occupancy and include a full breakfast. Rates are subject to a 10% state and local tax. Single rates are $6 less per room. A charge of $20 is added for each additional person. Rates are subject to change without notice, except for advance deposit reservations.
