BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAIN SETTING "
The inn is located on a paved residential street just 1⁄4 mile off of Vermont Routes 15 and 100. There are over three acres of lawn, flower gardens, and woods, plus spectacular views of the Green Mountains. In the morning we will lavish you with a delicious, three-course breakfast on a flexible schedule, and each evening you will be welcomed with tea and cookies or other treats. We are happy to prepare meals to meet any special diets, or at special times to accommodate your schedule. Breakfast includes fruit, muffins or sweet breads, and a main dish such as Stuffed French Toast or Vermont Cheddar Pie. The inn is surrounded by gardens in the summer, and you may enjoy relaxing on the two covered porches and three-level deck or strolling through the woods behind the inn. If the weather is not amenable for outdoor relaxing, you can read or play games in the living room by the wood stove or watch a movie from our 200 tape collection in the TV room. All of rooms have private en-suite baths and views of the Green Mountains, the forest and gardens, or both. The suites have fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, and butlers kitchens. Air conditioning in summer and heat in winter are individually controlled, and you can enjoy the fresh Vermont air when the temperatures are mild. There is much to do in Northern Vermont, from touring the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory in Waterbury Center or the Cabot Creamery in Cabot, to visiting Stowe Village, Jeffersonville, or Burlington. The inn is close to Johnson, VT, home of Johnson State College and the Vermont Studio Center, an artists' retreat. Ski at Stowe Mountain, Smuggler's Notch, or Jay Peak, go fly fishing, canoeing, or kayaking on the Lamoille River, or hike the Long Trail, Elmore Mountain, Sterling Falls, or take a walk on the Stowe Recreation Path. The Shelburne and Fairbanks Museums are easy driving tours, as are the Mad River Valley, the Champlain Islands and the Northeast Kingdom. With numerous antique & quilt shops, covered bridges, and art and craft galleries and shops, a drive through the countryside is an enjoyable adventure. Take in a game of golf or tennis, visit a water park, take a swim or ice skate at local indoor facilities, experience a sleigh or carriage ride through farm and forest, or just enjoy picking out which of the many local restaurants you will eat at each evening. Whatever the season, whether you want to be active or relax, there is always plenty to see and do in this little part of heaven called Vermont.
