" EXCEPTIONAL NEW ZEALAND
We have four guestrooms of varying grades, three of which have ensuite bathrooms. Most rooms can be made up as king or twin. Each of our rooms has separate access to the deck and a delightful view of Bream Bay and Whangarei Heads - an amazing panoramic vista. Our magnificent Northland setting - a beautiful garden surrounded by native bush - is just 10 minutes from the State Highway, and the same distance from the village of Waipu, where local shops can provide whatever you need and also a range of dining options. Your hosts, Ian & Philip, will ensure that you will have a memorable stay. We take pride in making our rooms clean and welcoming for our guests. Our breakfasts include fresh fruit salad or stewed garden fruits, and eggs from our own chickens, as well as a selection of juice, cereals and toast. Our guests can help themselves to tea and coffee at any time. Our facilities include a large hydrotherapy spa pool in a secluded garden room overlooking the view. This is a magical spot at night when subtly lit. One of our guests called this "a million-dollar experience". In addition, we have free wireless internet access and the use of our laptop computer; a wide selection of DVD's in our home theater; free local and national calling, and local knowledge to help you plan memorable day trips. Dragon Tree Lodge is just fifteen minutes from Uretiti Beach which is popular with gay men and naturists. It forms part of a Department of Conservation reserve, so there are no hotels or apartments closeby. Most of our guests spend time on the beach and then look forward to sluicing off in our outdoor shower and relaxing with a drink in the spa pool as the sun sets. Many of our guests also enjoy clothing-optional areas around the property. We can provide dinner by prior arrangement, and we're proud to serve produce from our own organic garden. Here are a few comments from past guests: “Dragon Tree delivers a well appointed and beautifully positioned retreat. Ian and Philip instinctively provide a calm and professional service. Their casual, happy and professional attitude compliments the panoramic view and tranquil setting.” “Exquisite view, company and food from the moment we arrived till the time we left. Will gladly come back again and recommend to anyone.” “I must stay the view across the harbour from the spa pool and the stars above will be a lasting memory for us as well as the relaxed atmosphere and gardens. I will certainly be telling people about your beautiful venue.” If your travel plans bring you to New Zealand, come stay with us in a truly gay-supportive environment at Dragon Tree Lodge.
