" ARTS AND CRAFTS HOME -
The Daisy Polk Inn was originally the home of Miss Daisy Polk, a well known opera star in Dallas who lived here for more than sixty years. Miss Polk studied opera under Caruso in Europe, and was also a teacher at the Hockaday School for Girls here in Dallas. She was also a big supporter of the troops during World War II, performing for them before they were sent overseas. Wayne, the current owner, bought the home from Miss Polk in '96, and started the renovation, working with Gerald Tomlin, a well know Dallas and New York architect. Our Dallas Bed and Breakfast is decorated with antiques from the Northeast and Europe, hand selected for each room. and the wallpaper, curtains and paint colors are all authentic for turn of the century Arts and Crafts homes - we want our guests to feel like they've stepped back in time a hundred years, but with all the modern amenities and conveniences. When the home was given historical status, it was also given the approval to be licensed as a bed and breakfast facility. That is how the Daisy Polk Inn came to be. We offer three rooms at the Daisy Polk Inn Bed & Breakfast - the Daisy Suite, the Dickason Suite and the reagan Suite. Each suite has a private bathroom, and the Daisy and Reagan Suites also offer queen-sized beds (the Dickason has a double). Next time business or pleasure brings you to Dallas, come stay with us at The Daisy Polk Inn Bed & Breakfast.
