Lesbian owned and operated, is located in a private home in the community of Deale, Maryland on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, about 20 miles south of Annapolis.  It tastefully blends old oak and contemporary furniture and houses a large and colorful collection of 20th century American visionary, folk, and outsider art.  Guests are welcome to use the living room and library, and peruse the owners' large collection of books on many topics.  A hot tub on the front porch is available in all weather, depending on guest hardiness.  In nice weather the front porch facing the water offers rocking chairs, a swing, and great birdwatching.  The rear deck has a pool and an area that invites lounging before and after swimming or in the fall or spring.  We have an acre of naturally-landscaped grounds, dock, canoes, and rowboat for guest use (or bring your own).  The owners’ cats are in and around the house.  There is no smoking anywhere on the premises.

We have three guest bedrooms.  One has a queen-sized bed, private bath, and TV, and overlooks the pool and deck at the back of the house.   Two bedrooms face Parkers Creek, which empties into the Chesapeake Bay.  One has a double bed, the other twin beds.  Each has a private balcony.  A bathroom separates these bedrooms, with a door opening into each bedroom.  If both bedrooms are occupied they share the bathroom, but the bath is private if only one room is occupied.    The owners prepare breakfast each morning to guest taste, and can recommend local places to eat in all price ranges for other meals.

Within a half-hour’s drive of Deale is Annapolis, with its historic town center, state capital, and Naval Academy; Calvert Cliffs State Park where one can hike along miles of natural chalk cliffs above the Chesapeake; Patuxent River Park for canoeing and birding; Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary and Blackwater Wildfowl Refuge for birding; several parks with beaches on the Bay; charter boats, fishing (head) boats, and boat rentals; at least a dozen antique and "junk" stores, and a mall full of outlet stores.  And of course the museums, monuments, theaters, and restaurants of Washington, DC and Baltimore are 50 minutes away.  But most people will simply bring books and “chill out” in a rocker and watch the local bird life.  We maintain up-to-date notebooks of local attractions, events, and restaurants, and can advise on most things in which guests have an interest.
