Crater Rim Cabin is a beautiful, historic vacation rental cabin from the middle of the last century, constructed ofredwood tongue-in-groove which is hard to find today. Our Volcano vacation rental cabin was remodeled in 2001.

Crater Rim Cabin is located close to Kilauea Volcano's summit at 4,050 feet, on the sunny end of Volcano Village. Our lot's southern end borders Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

It's always mild and cool up here, and the Hawaiian trade winds keep the air fresh - in the summer months, it may reach all of 75 degrees, and in the winter, the days often top out at 62 degrees - like spring all year round. And the nights can be cool - dropping down to 45 in the winter and 55 in the summertime. We even get frost every once and awhile.

Our Volcano vacation rental cabin is set among koa and ohia trees, as well as lovely hapu‘u, Hawaii's endemic tree ferns. If you're lucky, you may see an apapane, a Hawaiian honeycreeper, flitting through the branches. There are also often endangered Hawaiian nene at the golf course close by.

The cabin features a fully-equipped kitchen with a smooth-top electric range, large refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. We also provide milk, eggs, fruit, juice, cereal, and coffee upon arrival.

Our new gas fireplace helps keep you warm when it's a little chilly out, and our Cal king bed has an electric blanket where you and your partner can snuggle together when the temperature in Volcano drops.

Our Volcano cottage is close to the Volcano Golf and County Club, a lovely course with views of both Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea.

We're the perfect base for exploring Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where you'll find many great hiking trails, and an active lava flow that runs all the way down to the Pacific.

After exploring the National Park, watch spectacular videos about the volcano on the TV-DVD in the cabin, or enjoy one of our commercial film releases. Or rent a movie at the nearby Kilauea General Store.
