" CENTRAL VERMONT BED & BREAKFAST WITH PANORAMIC VIEWS "
Come spend some time and let us take care of you with old-fashioned Vermont hospitality. Every morning features a homemade breakfast served in our dining room or, weather permitting, on the deck overlooking the view. We're surrounded by the farms of central Vermont but we're an easy drive from Burlington, Boston, Hartford, New York and Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec City. World-renowned Goddard College is just down the hill. Convenient to Interstate 89, we’re just 10 minutes from Barre and 15 minutes from Montpelier. The beauty and wonder of the Northeast Kingdom begins just a 15-minute drive from us. And we've got just what you're seeking for rest and relaxation. Whether you enjoy hiking, skiing, bicycling, antiquing, snowshoeing or just relaxing with a good book, we'll make sure your stay is a special one. Perched high in the hills east of Vermont's capital city of Montpelier and northeast of Barre, the granite capital of the world, sits The Comstock House. Built in 1891 by dairy farmer Charles Comstock, the gracious farmhouse has been completely renovated to house our bed and breakfast. Views abound. Camel's Hump. Lincoln Peak. Hunger Mountain. The rolling hills, open pastures, farms, barns and silos, and forested slopes of central Vermont and the Northeast Kingdom stretch to the horizon. Enjoy the scenery over a homemade breakfast or while wandering the fields and forests of our 175-acre property. Or make us your home away from home while attending one of the programs of Goddard College. You may come just for the sunsets. Framed by the beauty of our mountains and the crispness of our air, we have a multitude of spots around the farm to sit, relax and enjoy the spectacle every evening. The sunrises are spectacular, too, if you're an early riser! Your room will be comfortable and will boast views every bit as dramatic. Plenty of options for relaxing, recreating or exploring await at The Comstock House farm or within a short drive from our hometown of Plainfield, Vermont. Enjoy a book in our parlor or outside under the canopy of our century-old maples. Go bicycling, strolling, hiking, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. We'll give you directions to some of our region's top attractions: Stowe, Sugarbush, Burke Mountain, the Vermont Statehouse, the granite quarries, Ben & Jerry's. There's fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, skating all nearby. And central Vermont has some of the best restaurants around. Ask us and we'll share some of our favorites. Come visit us in beautiful Vermont!
