The Cloran Mansion is a restored brick ITALIANTE Victorian home built in 1880 by Mr. John Cloran, an Irish immigrant who took passage to the United States on a steamer in May of 1841 with nothing more than his perseverance, strong will, and sound common sense. The home is situated in Galena on 1.5 acres and is adjacent to a 240 acre farm, far enough a way from the noisy traffic but just a few short minutes to the many wonderful shops and restaurants of historic Galena.

Today, the mansion offers four fully carpeted rooms and a detached handicapped accessible cottage. Each room has a private bath, central air conditioning, mini refrigerator and cable TV with VCR. Three rooms and the cottage offer fireplaces and the luxury of double whirlpools. The other room provides comfortable sleeping accommodations on a queen size bed.

Throughout Europe it has been said that one should eat breakfast like a king or queen. You can be assured that this philosophy is very much alive when you experience morning breakfast in our formal dining room at Cloran Mansion. Sauna available. Ample private parking on site.

Wake up to a delicious home cooked breakfast and engage in pleasant conversation. If you have any special dietary needs, please consult us when making your reservations.

All rooms are centrally air conditioned with private baths and cable TV with VCR. and mini refrigerator. Soft drinks and juice are provided. Full breakfast served in the main house daily between 9:00 & 10:30a.m.

All the private rooms are non-smoking rooms. The library is a designated smoking area and offers video tapes, books, games and magazines.

Alice's room offers a queen size bed, private bath, mini refrigerator and cable TV. This room is beautifully decorated and is perfect for any occasion.

Ann Burk's room offers a queen size bed, enclosed private bath, fireplace, large whirlpool, mini refrigerator and cable TV. This room is beautifully decorated with real wood cathedral ceilings.

John's Room offers a queen size bed, fireplace, double whirlpool, mini refrigerator and cable TV. This room is beautifully decorated and perfect for any occasion.

The Tower Room offers a romantic atmosphere with a brass King sized bed, fireplace, private bath, double whirlpool in the cupola, mini refrigerator and cable TV with VCR. Perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary.

The Cloran Cottage is a perfect private get away. This cozy cedar sided cottage offers a queen size bed, a double whirlpool, fireplace, full bath with shower, living area with sofa, cable TV., VCR & stereo, a kitchen off set by a dining area, all in the comfort of air conditioning. Heated floors for those cold winter nights.

The cottage is fully handicapped accessible. What ever your day may consist of shopping, site seeing, golfing or skiing, relax comfortably at the Cloran Cottage. Families and children can be accommodated in the Cloran Cottage.
