IN THE CITY "
Clifford House is a uniquely eclectic, elegant, charming house, originally built in 1868 in the square Tuscany Style. The home was later enlarged in the Queen Anne style, and is one of the notable architectural buildings in the neighborhood, often called "The Brick House". Clifford House has a warm, historic feel, and sits on a corner lot, with easy access to trains and buses. John Schneider Suite: John Schneider masterminded the first major remodel in of the Clifford House in 1890. This large third floor suite has a columned veranda, and is the most casual of all of our rooms, with pine floors, brick walls and a 14 foot peaked ceiling. The suite features a Queen bed, private bath, central a/c, refrigerator, wifi internet access, cable television and vcr, and much more. Jane Hart Room: Named after my late mother who stayed in this room when she visited, and who helped me pay the house payment when I was laid off, so I gave her the naming rights. The room is defined by the bay area of the house on the home's second level, and is across the hall from the shared double-sink bath. A beautiful leaded glass window brings beautiful light into the Jane Hart Room in the late afternoon. The room features a full bed, shared bathroom, wifi, cable television, central air, and more. Albert Withington Room: Albert Withington built the Clifford House, and the room is in what was once Mr. Withington's master bedroom in the original Tuscany Style structure at the front of the home. Three large windows let in morning light. The room features a Queen bed, shared bathroom, wifi, cable TV and VCR, a refrigerator, central air, and more. Madison Suite: This suite is perfect for extended stays - with a separate entry, this two level suite is like a house within a house, and is ideal for business travelers, small groups, or families who want separate sleeping spaces. The full kitchen is great for making meals at home, with a full sized refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishes and pots and pans. The suite features a/c, wood floors, a full bathroom and a half bath, a washer/dryer, wifi and cable television, and 1,100 square feet to spread out in. There's a supermarket and the West Side Farmer's Market close by. Our neighborhood is called Ohio City, an urban-feeling, downtown residential neighborhood. There are some great restaurants close by, including Parker‘s, Heck‘s Café, Great Lakes Brewing Company, and much more. Ohio City also has great local coffee shops and art galleries.
