Each of the rooms at Casa San Francisco was designed with loving care by Nancy Bergman with help from her co-owner and sister, Terry Leary. Nancy has given each room a unique theme with decorative features from the four corners of the world, many provided by Terry Leary, who travels extensively and sends back decorator lamps from such exotic destinations as Turkey and the Far East. Creature comforts begin with the best mattresses and 100% fine cotton bed linen, as can be expected at a first quality establishment. Each room features a balcony or private patio, air conditioning, full bath with hot water and a sumptuous view of gardens, pools or fountains. Nine luxury rooms overlook the beautiful pool, which is located in the back of the property to offer guests privacy. Casa San Francisco is a beautiful new hotel and restaurant in the heart of the historic district of Granada. It has welcomed visitors from all over the world since its opening in 2004, many of whom return for the gracious ambience, tasteful decoration and, of course, the delicious cuisine. The bilingual staff offers personal service and loves sharing information with our guests. Every room offers distinctive ambiance, air conditioning, balcony or patio, extraordinary tiled bathrooms, complimentary continental breakfast, swimming pool and personal service for each valued guest. Casa San Francisco is located adjacent to the historic Convento San Francisco with its captivating anthropological museum. There are many activities in Granada to interest all age groups. A kayak trip around the isletas, shopping for hammocks in Masaya, visiting the live volcano or a boat trip on the lake, Lake Nicaragua is the 8th largest lake in the world and a 20 minute walk from Casa San Francisco. Many day trips can be arranged by our friendly staff. The Hotel/Bar/Restaurant is open from 6:30 AM to 10 PM and serves international gourmet cuisine with a Latin flare. A lively happy hour begins at 5 PM with special drinks and popcorn, with other appetizers available. The bar features live music on Saturday evenings and has hosted Flamenco, Mariachi, and Folk music. The owners plan to further enrich the culture of Granada 'La Gran Sultana' with periodic art exhibits featuring Nicaraguan artists. Casa San Francisco's owners are no strangers to life in foreign countries. Both are former residents of California who served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Africa and South America and then furthered their careers internationally. Throughout their lives, they have enjoyed absorbing different foreign customs and have developed the cultural sensitivity which has made Casa San Francisco a comfortable haven for all its guests - no matter what their origin.
