Casa Portagioia is a small estate near Cortona Tuscany with 5 independent guest bedrooms for bed and breakfast – all with luxury bathrooms and 2 suite apartments which can accommodate 2 – 4 guests. Portagioia offers excellent privacy, a heated swimming pool and gorgeous scenery. Perfect for a peaceful break in the countryside or to explore the many delights of Tuscany and Umbria.

More important is the fact that we know how much planning goes into a holiday and that there is too long a space between vacations. Here at Casa Portagioia, relaxation is the keyword. We look after our guests every need, from a leisurely breakfast overlooking olive groves, helping arrange your day trips to the fabulous sites of Tuscany and Umbria - and when just a lazy day is called for, our heated pool with its gorgeous views of the Valle di Chio will get you ready for the various restaurants of Cortona, Arezzo and Castiglion Fiorentino. You may even be staying here when we offer our guests dinner, a very relaxed 5 course freshly prepared menu - and some very interesting Tuscan wines.

Whether your tour of Tuscany and Umbria includes Arezzo, Assisi, Florence, Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza, Arezzo or Montalcino - all within an hour from here, you will not find a more perfect landscape than the Valle di Chio. One of the Grand Medici Dukes after taking the town of Castiglion for Florence looked down at the valley and referred to it as Valle del Dio or Valley of God. But, if you do want to explore Tuscany, you’ll find Casa Portagioia perfectly located for your travels.
