In Guanacaste, along the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, you'll find Casa de Manana, in the small beach town of Playa Junquillal. We're a safe haven for women and gay/lesbian travelers.
Casa de Manana is a new two bedroom home, just two minutes by car or 8 minutes on foot from a beautiful, untouched beach, where you'll be surrounded by a wonderful tropical landscape and tons of wildlife. There are Howler Monkeys, parrots, and so many tropical birds. This beach is often deserted, even in peak season.
Our Costa Rica vacation rental home is fully furnished, including a full kitchen, Master Bedroom with King bed, second bedroom with double bed, a/c, internet access, basic mini-bar (our water is drinkable here), towels, mountain bikes and snorkeling gear. We're also just an hour from Liberia International Airport.
There are so many things to do here - just a short walk away, you'll find the Leatherback and Ridley Turtle feeding area - swim or snorkel with the protected species, or simply watch them from the beach as they rise in the surf. If you get there at the right time, you might see newly hatched turtles being released into the ocean from the protected hatching area on Playa Junquillal. An amazing experience!
You can also enjoy whale watching from the shore. We're also a popular surfing spot - or try neighboring Playa Negra, Playa Grande and Playa Avellanas. There are several surfing schools here, too.
Costa Rica is also known for some of the best diving in the world - or try our deep sea fishing, too.
In the evenings, try one of our great local restaurants (Italian, Swiss, German, American, Costa Rican and a pizzeria). There are also several internet bars within walking distance from the villa.
You can also ride on horseback on the beach, or enjoy one of the "Junquillal Adventure Tours" - the owner lives resides nextdoor - they can also arrange pick-ups and drop-offs at Liberia International Airport.
For a daytrip, try Rincon National Park - hike the volcano, the upper craters, boiling mud pots, hot springs, fumaroles and geysers, and see all of Costa Rica's wildlife. There are also rafting and canopy tours, and many hiking trails.
