The warm and welcoming Carolina Bed & Breakfast is situated on a quiet residential street in the historic Montford district of Asheville. A short walk through the neighborhood will bring you to the center of downtown where you may dine at one of the many award winning restaurants or browse through galleries and shops. Or use this lovely Arts and Crafts style home as a base from which to explore the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, or spend a day at the Biltmore Estate.
After your activities, return home to relax in front of a cheery fire in the winter or in the summer you may sit on our large porch enjoying a gentle evening breeze while birds sing in the gardens around you.
Built in 1901 by Richard Sharp Smith, supervising architect of the Biltmore, the spacious rooms feature unique art and antiques which the owners have collected from around the world. Every effort is made to make your visit special: a home-baked dessert treat in your room, nibbles by the fireplace in the evening, and personalized service are among a few of the extras you can expect.
Unlike the Victorian homes of the same era, Arts and Craft Style Houses put more of an emphasis on natural wood, clean lines and simplicity. The Carolina Bed & Breakfast echoes this in its bedrooms. Each room is individually decorated with a color scheme and style of its own. Every room has a private bath, many with Jacuzzi or whirlpool tub. Plush robes and luxurious towels and linens will add to your comfort and enjoyment. Relax in front of your own fireplace, surf the web or enjoy cable television or a DVD from our library. All rooms are air-conditioned, or, in the summer, you may choose to sleep with your windows open enjoying a cooling breeze from your ceiling fan while listening to the night sounds from our garden.
Breakfast in the morning is thoughtfully prepared to delight you with a meal that is creative and delicious. Our breakfasts use local ingredients in season, and guests have given us rave reviews. We can provide vegetarian or vegan meals if requested and cater to those with specific allergies as well.
