NESTLED IN THE BLACK HILLS
Michael's uncle once told him that there are three things in this world that you need:
Good Food: Our Breakfasts are 'farm style' - fresh eggs laid by our chickens ('the Girls') and fresh baked bread or rolls. A flavor that will make you think of Grandma! (We do vegetarian on request). Savor fresh ground coffee and though we don't have Hibiscus or Cassia flower teas, we'll brew you a cup of Liptons. Dine at Camp Michael's kitchen counter, the family style dining room or on the verandah if the weather is pleasant. Good Friends: After depositing your luggage in your room, meet your hosts or other guests. It won't take long to notice you're in a place where people talk to you, not at you. At Camp Michael you'll find the conversation stimulating and an atmosphere where you can let your hair down and be yourself. You're among friends and family at gay owned and operated Camp Michael. Toddy time is an afternoon feature that comes quite naturally. Sit on the verandah, nosh and chew like a bunch of old farm wives or help your hosts snap green beans and chatter with other guests. Or, if you're the quiet type, you can rock on the porch swing and listen to the peace and serenity of the Black Hills. There are no sounds of a hurried city at Camp Michael. There are plenty of trails for a woodland ramble or you can pick berries from the garden and raspberry patch. We have a selection of gay, lesbian, and mainstream movies, a library and satellite television (seldom used) with over 100 channels. Camp Michael is a pleasant, homey place with a unique mixture of socialization and serenity. A Comfortable Bed at Night: Camp Michael features two rooms with king beds and one room with a queen bed. We also have a queen hide-a-bed if we're over booked. Our guests always comment on how well they have slept. There are two bathrooms and though they're shared, we've never had a complaint. You won't find mints or chocolates on your pillow, but safer sex supplies are within easy reach Camp Michael isn't just a relaxing place to stay. We're centrally located to many fabulous places to see. Mt. Rushmore is just a short jaunt as well as Deadwood of Wild Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane fame. If casino's aren't your thing, may we suggest fine dining from every bill of fare or maybe Native American History and culture sites, a jazz fesitval or just soaking up the experience of Paha Sapa (lakota for the Black Hills) Whether you want to play tourist or fit in like a local, we certainly will recommend something fun to do. Our gay and lesbian Bed and Breakfast needs to be experienced. No amount of print is going to replay the experience. Come and join us. Find out for yourself. We're pretty sure you'll enjoy your stay.
