Black Hawk Weyr is a beautifully appointed two story mountain cabin in an old Douglas fir forest, in the heart of the coastal mountain range in Northern Mendocino County, California. We're just 30 miles east of Mendocino and Fort Bragg, the perfect location for a relaxing, romantic getaway with your partner, or a family retreat in the woods.

Black Hawk Weyr is rural enough to provide a great escape from urban life, but close enough to the San Francisco Bay Area (just 2 1/2 hours from the City) to be the ideal weekend getaway.

In Willits, you'll find peace and quiet, stunning starscapes, wild and rampant natural beauty, great hiking trails, and fresh apples or peaches from the local trees during the produce season.

You can also bounce on our large outdoor trampoline, ride your mountain bikes through the forest, or just relax and enjoy the view while you barbecue hamburgers and hot dogs.

There's a wood stove to keep you and your partner or family warm in the cooler months, and the whister of the wind through the trees will soothe away your cares in any season.

We're also close to the town of Willits (5 miles), the art-town of Ukiah (15 miles), and the Eel River, Russian River, and Clear Lake.

Black Hawk Weyr is a four season destination:

In the spring, the rivers tumble through the forest, full of snow melt, everything is green, and there are flowers everywhere, including wild iris and rhododendrons.

In the summer, the days are very warm, but the nights are sublime, and it's a great time to swim in the Eel and Russian Rivers. There's also a local Shakespeare Festival, the Willits Rodeo, and many more summertime events to enjoy.

In the fall, watch the colors as the leaves change, barbeque in the cool evenings, and try our local wineries.

In the winter, the woods are blanketed with snow - we get an average of ten inches of snowfall a year. Relax in the hot tub with the forest covered in white all around you, or snuggle up beside the fire.

Whatever season brings you to Black Hawk Weyr, you'll love the peace, quiet, and slow pace of life up here in the Coastal Range.
