Built in 1834, the comfortable Beechmont Inn Bed & Breakfast in Hanover, Pennsylvania, is just a few minutes from historic Gettysburg, from the Pennsylvania Dutch country of Lancaster and York Counties, from dozens upon dozens of antique stores and specialty shops, from beautiful Codorus State Park and much, much more. 

The Beechmont Inn B&B is in South Central Pennsylvania, and is also close to the towns of New Oxford, York, Frederick, MD, and Lancaster.

The Beechmont Inn has been a part of historic Hanover since Andrew Jackson was President. It witnessed the Civil War's first major battle on free soil, days before the famous Battle of Gattysburg, when Federal troops commanded by General Kilpatrick retreated down Broadway with Jeb Stuart's cavalry in hot pursuit. Union troops soon rallied under General Farnsworth and a brash young officer by the name of George Armstrong Custer, forcing the Confederates back through the center square and out of Hanover.

The Battle of Gettysburg Reenactments are July 1, 2 and 3, commemorating its 143rd anniversary .  Hanover will host its reenactment August 18, 19 and 20, featuring street battles, civil war hospital demonstrations, fife and drum corp concerts, cannon firings at dusk, and a candlelight camp tour.  Special walking tours of the Battle of Hanover will depart from center square at designated times.

Begin your morning with a fruit smoothie and fruit course, and continue with an entrée that might include Spice Pancakes with Lemon Sauce, Beechmont Buttermilk Pie, or an Herb Cheese Tart. Accompaniments of homemade breads and muffins, special teas and coffee blends from the great northwest, warm hospitality and plenty of great conversation complete your breakfast at The Beechmont.

Throughout the day you can help yourself to complimentary soft drinks and bottled water from our guest refrigerator. Kathryn bakes cookies and other sweet treats that are offered to you each evening.
