" DAILY CIVIL WAR HISTORY PROGRAMS AT OUR GETTYSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA BED & BREAKFAST "
We have created the perfect recipe for your Gettysburg vacation.
Our special ingredients are what make us unique.
Daily hands-on Civil War history programs at 8 AM.
Grab a cup of coffee and relax while you hear stories about Gettysburg.
Try on uniform jackets and hats. You may even get to fire a black powder musket.
A delicious full hot breakfast.
We start with home-baked muffins or cobbler and fruit. Then dig into a delicious breakfast entrée with farm potatoes, breakfast meat, orange juice, and coffee. You won't go away hungry! We often wear costumes when we serve breakfast. We have some wonderful men and women's hats that we invite you to wear if you want.
Friday night ghost stories.
Have an early dinner so you can be back by 8 PM for our ghost story time. The lights are lowered, the candles lit, and the spirits are invited in for the evening. The next morning, we gather around the breakfast table and share stories about our night. Will you be visited that night? Remember, it's all storytelling....isn't it?
The only bed and breakfast in an original 1809 Civil War home on the South Cavalry Battlefield.
You will be staying in an exclusive, privately owned section of the battlefield. The monument that lines the driveway wasn't even known to the National Park until we told them about it. Cornelius and Anna Houtelin owned this farm during the Battle of Gettysburg. Artillery, cavalry, and infantry all fought here.
Beautiful country setting.
We have 30 acres with a lotus pond, an ancient oak grove, and nature trails. We are set back from the main road. Traffic noise is unheard of. The rooster crowing, the peeper frogs, and the braying of the donkey are the sounds that will waken you in the morning. Our 1820's barn is a great place for a reception or barn dance. Our lawn is the perfect setting for a garden wedding or commitment ceremony.
Everyone welcome, pet friendly.
We welcome all guests - singles, couples, families, and friends of all ages. We even welcome your family dogs. We trust you to know if your pets and children will be a good bed and breakfast guests. We have plenty of room outdoors for everyone to run off extra energy. We have a great tree swing and a small petting zoo. Let us know what you want and we will do our best to make it happen. This is your home while you are our guests.
Excellent location within five minutes of the National Park Visitor Center, restaurants, galleries, museums, and outlet shopping. The National Park is our northern neighbor. We are located behind Big Round Top on the same road as the National Park Visitor Center, Pickett's Charge, and the Peach Orchard.
You can spice up your get-away with romance packages, battlefield tours, and pre-arranged dinner reservations. We also have some great holiday events and murder mystery dinners.
Come visit us! We are looking forward to meeting you!
Extra guests in rooms are $20 per night. Suites are available to accommodate up to a party of five. Fireplaces available. Usually a 2 night minimum stay is requested if Saturday is included. If Saturday is the only day you can come, call and see if it is available. We can do a one night reservation if Friday and Sunday are already booked.
