Visiting the Taman Ayun temple: the temple was originally built in the 18th century by Cokorda Munggu, king of Mengwi, and is defended by a large moat that's overflowing with beautiful pink and red lotus flowers. This beautiful temple features a succession of ancient pavilions and magnificent “merus”.

Exploring Ubud: the cultural capital of the Island, with many shops offering a wide array of local arts and crafts, as well as many great, affordable restaurants.

Climb Mount Batur: start early, and take this tour up the volcanic peak in time to see the sun rise at its crest - a three hour walk each way.
