Ira Ono, the owner and your host (he calls himself caretaker), nationally known artist, Ira Ono envisions a space where artists, gardeners, and writers fro mall over the world can explore, create, retreat and be inspired by the powerful and healing beauty of Volcano. Ira is a long time Volcano resident and appreciator of its distinctive appeal.

The cottage is just a mile from the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and close to all of Volcano. Hilo and the Puna district are 30-45 minutes to the east by car, and a black sand beach where sea turtles frolic is just 45 minutes south.

The 3 acre estate features an art gallery, many pieces of local artists' sculpture, and a beautiful redwood grove for ceremonies and gatherings.
