Northern Tanzania offers the ultimate safari experience and unrivaled game viewing in terms of abundance and diversity of wildlife.  Visit the Serengeti National Park during the green season (December - May) to see the great wildebeest and zebra migration and all the large carnivores on the famous Serengeti Plains.

Travel in early February for the wildebeest calving or late May for the wildebeest rut, which are two particular good times during the green season to witness predatory action.

The green season is the best time for wildlife viewing and with just a 1-week safari during this time it is possible to see an astonishing array of wildlife including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, rhinos, over a dozen species of antelopes and the massive (million plus) herds of wildebeest and zebra.

The dry season (June – November) is also a superb time for wildlife viewing with large herds of elephants and gazelles along the rivers and all the big cats waiting in ambush.  The famous Migration crosses the Mara River during the dry season and this is the time of the famous wildlife sequences with the massive crocodiles catching wildebeest and zebra as they cross.
